Tokenomics

A fixed supply, a predictable emission schedule inspired by Bitcoin's halving, and a burn mechanism tied to the core utility of the system.

Distribution so far

Every token exists from genesis, held inside the pools. It is released only as participants earn it for verified work.

Initial allocation

The supply is fixed at 1,310,000,000 RC and split across pools, each rewarding one kind of work.

Emission schedule

The timeline is structured into Eras and Epochs. One Era is 1,152,000 blocks, about six months. One Epoch is 12 Eras, about six years. After each Epoch, the tokens emitted per Era are halved.

Currently in Era 3, Epoch 1

50%Epoch 1
25%Epoch 2
13%Epoch 3
6.3%Epoch 4
3.1%Epoch 5
1.6%Epoch 6

Each Epoch releases half of what remains, so a pool approaches — but never fully reaches — its full allocation.

How rewards are shared

Within each pool, the emission for an Era is split between active users by level. You raise your level by doing the role's work: inspectors per completed inspection, researchers per published research, regenerators by the trees and species recorded in their inspections, and so on.

your reward for an Era = ( your level ÷ the total level of your role ) × the pool's emission for that Era

Offset and the path to deflation

The token's core utility is environmental compensation. Retiring a credit burns it — permanently removing it from supply — and returns a contribution certificate. As emissions halve and adoption grows the burn rate, the tokens burned can exceed the tokens emitted, moving the system from an inflationary phase to a deflationary one.
